Remember Unreal Tournament 2004? It wouldn't even install on RC1. But after upgrading, it not only ran, but it ran great. Full speed. Steam works fine, as does Half-Life 2. Heck, I can run it in a window and get great performance. Quake III Arena runs great. Maybe I'll eventually get that performance data after all.
good news so far im assuming its still got DirectX 9.0cSE with it.

Its RC1 not RC3! The article actually reads that a fresh install of Vista then UT2k4 wont play but upgrading your XP to Vista (which already includes an installation of UT2k4) will work - weirdness!!

lol i did change it, dont know why i put rc3, i think becuase it was his artical 3 page perhaps lol
that is wierd like you say, but im sure its becuase rc1 is missing some componants that xp has that games like !
ut2004 can be run anywhare even multiple copies but using the same key, you can patch your key dead easy in reg, backup the whole of you ut2004 to dvd and never have to use the original dvd etc ! i wil have to dl rc1 and try it !
